Fostering Dialogue on the Real Impact of Artificial Intelligence

OFER AI is an independent, non-governmental, open forum for AI discussion, learning, and knowledge exchange — unaffiliated with any state agency, educational institution, accrediting body, or political structure. Every person, regardless of credential, sector, or geography, has a voice here.

Our Vision

AI is already deciding who gets hired, diagnosed, approved, flagged, or denied — often without the person affected ever knowing an algorithm was involved. OFER AI exists to put real scrutiny back into that process: bringing together the people building AI, the people deploying it, and the people living with its decisions, so good judgment travels faster than harm. We're independent of any platform, government, or institution, because the people asking the hard questions shouldn't be the same people selling the answers.

OFER AI is dedicated to creating a collaborative environment where professionals can share insights, experiences, and strategies regarding the responsible use of artificial intelligence in various industries. Our platform encourages meaningful discussions and knowledge sharing.

OFER AI is being built as an open forum to help people and organizations across all sectors and literacy levels understand, question, and improve how artificial intelligence is used in work and everyday life. Through open conversations, real‑world stories, shared experiences, technical deep dives, and practical training, we bring together office staff, managers, executives, and specialists to explore AI’s benefits and risks. Our mission is to make AI use more effective, more responsible, and better governed by sharing honest experiences, clear guidance, and actionable guardrails—not hype.

FORUMS & ROUNDTABLES

OFER AI events are designed to move from broad discussion to practical insight. Each session is meant to help participants understand what is changing, what is helping, what is creating risk, and what deserves deeper exploration next.

Forums

Forums are open, discussion-oriented sessions that encourage broad participation across roles and experience levels, fostering cross‑pollination. They may include a host introduction, a keynote or scholarly panel, audience discussion, polling, and closing reflections that capture what participants are seeing in their work and lives.

These sessions are best for:

  • Orienting first-time participants

  • Facilitating broad cross-role dialogue

  • Testing interest in emerging topics and themes

  • Surfacing common concerns, opportunities, and misconceptions

  • Building trust and shared language across a diverse audiences

Roundtables

Roundtables are smaller, facilitated group discussions designed to go deeper. Their purpose is to gather practical insight, identify common patterns, compare experiences, and help refine future OFER AI programming, research, training, and strategy.

A typical roundtable may include:
•    A focused discussion prompt.
•    One or more facilitators.
•    Structured note capture.
•    Shared report-back to the larger group.
•    Polling & sentiment capture at the end.

Typical Event Flow

1.    Welcome and framing.
2.    Keynote or scholarly panel.
3.    Moderated audience discussion.
4.    Breakout roundtables in manageable groups.
5.    Report-back to the full session.
6.    Polling, sentiment capture, and next-step topic selection.
This format allows OFER AI to combine expert perspective with participant experience instead of treating the audience as passive listeners.

Rotating Discussion Design

Over time, roundtable membership can rotate across topics and groups to improve cross-pollination. That approach helps participants hear perspectives from different roles and increases the quality of qualitative data gathered from recurring sessions.
Possible roundtable themes include:
•    AI in everyday workflows and productivity.
•    Governance, risk, and guardrails.
•    Workforce change and role redesign.
•    Data, analytics, and decision-making.
•    Community education and digital inclusion.
•    School readiness, educator support, and student preparation for AI-integrated careers.

What Participants Can Expect

Participants should expect:
•    Plain-spoken facilitation instead of jargon.
•    Respectful exchange across technical and non-technical viewpoints.
•    Practical examples rather than abstract theory.
•    Ongoing attention to ethics, governance, privacy, security, and real-world outcomes.
•    Clear next steps on which topics deserve deeper treatment in future meetings.
